Job Role:
TheAssistant Manager will support the day‑to‑day operations of the accounting andtax practice, ensuring exceptional client service, efficient internalprocesses, and strong financial oversight. This role blends leadership,analytical thinking, and operational management, making it ideal for someonewho enjoys both people management and hands‑on financial work. The Shared Service Center forms part of the overall IFZA ecosystem,supporting licensees with accounting and tax compliance support. The departmentis a growing department, with the ideal candidate identifying a need forcontrols, providing suggestions and implementing this with a strong skill ofbeing organized to ensure that they have a good grip on any issues, deadlinesand tracking within the different teams and clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact forclient escalations, ensuring timely communication and high-quality servicedelivery.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of specificaccounting reports, tax filings, and compliance documents.
- Address client inquiries, resolve issues,and maintain strong, long-term relationships.
- Support onboarding of new clients
ProcessImprovement & Operational Efficiency
- Evaluate existing workflows and identifyopportunities to streamline processes.
- Implement best practices in documentation,reporting, and client communication.
- Support the adoption of new technologies,accounting tools, and automation initiatives.
- Keep up to date with accounting and taxdevelopments to ensure the team is properly equipped with this
- Supervise juniors (Team Leaders,Accountants) and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performancefeedback.
- Allocate workloads, monitor progress, andensure deadlines are met across accounting and tax projects.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, andgrowth-oriented team culture.
- Oversee invoicing cycles, ensuring accuracy,timely issuance, and proper follow up on outstanding payments.
- Track project budgets, internal costs, andrevenue forecasts to support financial planning.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterlyfinancial performance reports for management.
Compliance& Quality Assurance
- Ensure all accounting and tax work adheresto regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Support audits and maintain accurate,organized records.
- Stay updated on relevant tax laws,accounting standards, and industry changes.
- Identify any control deficiencies andpropose changes
Liaisonfor cross departmental work
- Working with different departments withinthe wider organization to deliver specific projects
- Supporting the wider IFZA Organization withad-hoc requests, related to accounting and tax.
Requirements
- Qualified CA/ACCA professional with minimum 7-8 years’ accounting experience with at least 2 year experience in managing a team size of 6+
- Excellent communication skills in English, any additional language will be a plus.
- Highly competent in the fundamentals of accounting(IFRS knowledge)
- In depth knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax knowledge
- Proven project management skills with a process orientated mindset
- Expertise in Technical accounting
- Prior working knowledge in ERP systems
