Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Area Project Lead - NDT to lead and manage Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations across multiple Oil & Gas projects and client accounts.

This role requires a strong combination of technical NDT expertise, project leadership, client management, operational excellence, and team development. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of NDT services while maintaining compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with client requirements, budgets, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve potential delays or challenges.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining operational efficiency.
Resource Management
  • Deploy and manage Certified NDT Technicians (CNDT) and Assistant NDT Technicians (ANDT).
  • Plan manpower requirements based on project scope and workload.
  • Coordinate equipment, tools, consumables, and operational resources.
  • Support training, competency development, and certification requirements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure all NDT activities comply with applicable industry standards, including ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO.
  • Verify adherence to client specifications, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain service excellence.
Client Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned client accounts.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Address client concerns professionally and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Enforce compliance with HSE, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct site safety inspections and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implementation of preventive measures.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Oversee preparation and timely submission of NDT reports and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting systems such as FLEX, FIELDSPOT, SHAREPOINT, NEXUS, and related platforms.
  • Maintain accurate project records and audit-ready documentation.
  • Prepare operational and management reports as required.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and support NDT personnel across projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs and support professional development initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, quality-driven, and safety-focused work environment.
Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical guidance on NDT methods including:
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Radiographic Testing (RT)
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
    • TOFD
    • Advanced NDT techniques
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical challenges.
  • Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
Operational Excellence
  • Improve productivity, turnaround times, and service delivery performance.
  • Optimize field logistics, scheduling, and resource utilization.
  • Monitor project KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other operational teams to maximize efficiency.
Customer Satisfaction
  • Drive customer satisfaction initiatives and collect client feedback.
  • Monitor service quality metrics and satisfaction trends.
  • Implement improvement actions based on customer feedback.
  • Support long-term account growth through exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
  • Equivalent professional qualifications may be considered.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in NDT operations, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Proven experience in project management, client handling, and team leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and field teams.
Certifications
  • Minimum NDT Level II Certification in:
    • UT (Ultrasonic Testing)
    • MT/MPT (Magnetic Particle Testing)
    • PT (Penetrant Testing)
  • PCN, ISO 9712, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Valid and current NDT certifications are required.
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of:
    • ASME
    • API
    • ASTM
    • ISO Standards
  • Familiarity with advanced NDT methods such as PAUT and TOFD is an advantage.
