Position: PCN UT Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and certified PCN UT Technician to join our Inspection & NDT team supporting major Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting ultrasonic and conventional NDT inspections to ensure asset integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability across pipelines, piping systems, and process equipment.

This role requires strong technical expertise in ultrasonic testing methods, inspection interpretation, and compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections on piping, pipelines, pressure equipment, and structural components.
• Carry out Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) as required.
• Select appropriate NDT inspection techniques based on material properties, component geometry, and project specifications.
• Interpret inspection indications, discontinuities, and defects in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with approved procedures, work instructions, and client specifications.
• Adhere to all HSE policies, site safety requirements, and industry regulations.
• Coordinate with Quality, Inspection, and Engineering teams to resolve findings and ensure project compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the inspection team.
• Assist in mentoring junior inspectors and technicians when required.

Qualification Requirements

Education

• Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Mandatory Certifications

• PCN UT Level 2
• ASNT Level II Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT)
• ASNT Level II Penetrant Testing (PT)
• PCN Certificates 3.1 & 3.2

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years post-certification experience as PCN UT Level 2 Technician.
• Minimum 2-3 years post-certification experience in ASNT Level II (MPT & PT).
• Minimum 5 years of overall NDT experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, EPC, or Industrial projects.
• Proven experience in inspection of:
  • Pipelines
  • Process piping
  • Pressure equipment
  • Oil & Gas facilities

Additional Technical Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is highly preferred:

• Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT)
• Penetrant Testing (PT)
• Positive Material Identification (PMI)
• Hardness Testing (HT)
• Corrosion Monitoring
• Pipeline and Piping Integrity Inspections

Ability to identify and apply the most suitable NDT technique based on material type, component configuration, defect mechanisms, and applicable standards.

Indication Interpretation

Strong capability to evaluate and interpret ultrasonic indications, discontinuities, and defects accurately in accordance with approved procedures and industry codes.

Demonstrated commitment to following inspection procedures, work instructions, quality requirements, and client specifications.
