Job summary

Grand Hyatt Dubai is looking for a dedicated Commis/trainee to assist the Pastry Chef in managing production for all Arabic pastry and bakery products, ensuring they meet the hotel’s standards and support outlets and banquets across the venue.

You will work with a senior culinary team, applying creativity, practical kitchen skills, and strict hygiene practices to maintain quality and safety in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or professional diploma in Food Production with pastry specialization.
• Minimum 2 years' work experience as Commis Chef or 1 year as apprentice in larger operation.
• Good practical, operational and adequate administrative skills with a flair for creativity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
• Basic Computer Skills in MS Office, and Recipe Maintenance System is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef with the management of the production for all Arabic pastry and bakery products.
• Ensure that outputs contribute to the overall success of outlets and banquets, in accordance with the hotel’s standards and financial goals.
