Role Context

The Aftersales Director will hold strategic and operational responsibility for the complete automotive aftersales ecosystem, connecting workshop productivity, parts availability, warranty administration, technical capability, customer retention, and financial performance under one national operating strategy. The position requires an experienced automotive leader who can convert commercial objectives into measurable workshop and parts performance while protecting service quality. Particular attention will be given to P&L control, resource utilization, customer retention, fleet contracts, technical training, manufacturer relationships, warranty cost reduction, and development of new revenue streams around electric vehicle servicing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the national automotive aftersales strategy across service, parts, warranty, technical, and customer support operations.
  • Establish clear workshop output, productivity, utilization, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Direct annual budgeting and monitor actual performance against approved financial plans.
  • Analyze aftersales revenue, operating costs, margins, resource allocation, and business performance to determine corrective actions.
  • Maintain strong P&L oversight across service and parts operations.
  • Ensure workshop and warehouse operating systems comply with dealership standards and company policies.
  • Maintain service and parts procedures in line with applicable ESMA requirements and operational standards.
  • Lead overall aftersales operations serving retail customers, fleet accounts, and insurance companies.
  • Build profitable service propositions for fleet customers, including annual mechanical repair and maintenance contracts.
  • Develop customer acquisition and retention programs in coordination with Marketing.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and adjust service and parts promotions according to customer response and competitive activity.
  • Work with CRM and Customer Care teams to monitor feedback, investigate recurring concerns, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Track customer retention, service visits, CSI indicators, and other aftersales performance measures.
  • Conduct workshop visits to verify operational systems, repair quality, customer handling, and turnaround performance.
  • Maintain consistent service standards across workshop locations and customer segments.
  • Lead workshop repair operations with emphasis on productivity, technical quality, efficient job flow, and timely vehicle delivery.
  • Direct parts warehouse performance covering inventory availability, stock control, supply efficiency, and workshop support.
  • Maintain effective warranty administration and claims management processes.
  • Monitor warranty trends and identify recurring technical or product-related concerns.
  • Ensure service personnel receive appropriate technical training and current manufacturer information.
  • Build leadership capability across workshop, technical, parts, warranty, and customer-facing teams.
  • Participate in manufacturer training programs, conferences, franchise meetings, and relevant industry activities.
  • Translate manufacturer and market developments into actionable plans for internal teams.
  • Collaborate across Finance, Marketing, CRM, Parts, Technical, Warranty, Operations, and other business functions.
  • Analyze operational and customer data to identify opportunities for productivity, retention, profitability, and service improvement.
  • Introduce new aftersales revenue streams associated with electric vehicle maintenance and technical services.
  • Develop operational readiness for evolving EV service requirements, including technical capability, equipment, processes, and workforce skills.
  • Identify inefficient processes and implement improvements that increase workshop capacity and operating effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with vehicle manufacturers on product development and field‑quality concerns.
  • Provide manufacturer feedback on recurring repairs and warranty issues to improve product reliability and reduce future warranty exposure.
  • Prepare management reports covering financial results, workshop performance, parts operations, warranty activity, customer satisfaction, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure aftersales resources are deployed effectively and aligned with business priorities.
  • Create a performance-driven culture based on accountability, customer value, technical quality, and measurable results.
Ideal Profile

Bachelor 's Degree in Engineering with specialization in Automobile Engineering or a closely related discipline is required. A Master 's Degree in Business Administration - MBA is preferred for the strategic and commercial scope of the position. The preferred candidate brings at least 15 years of automotive dealership experience covering service, technical, warranty, and parts operations, together with a minimum of 10 years in senior managerial positions. Extensive experience leading multi-function automotive aftersales operations is essential. Candidates should understand workshop productivity, service processes, parts warehousing, warranty administration, technical support, fleet operations, customer retention, and dealership financial management. Strong knowledge of business planning, budgeting, P&L management, resource allocation, performance targets, and operational controls is required. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to lead large teams, make commercially sound decisions, solve complex operational problems, and convert strategic objectives into measurable results. Experience managing relationships with automotive manufacturers, fleet customers, insurance companies, franchise partners, and other strategic stakeholders will be valuable. Knowledge of electric vehicle aftersales requirements and the ability to develop commercially viable EV service capabilities will provide a significant advantage.
