Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design solutions for UAV projects. You will develop airframes and mechanical assemblies, create detailed CAD models, and contribute to prototype validation across manufacturing and flight testing.

The role collaborates with electronics, software, and test teams, emphasizes lightweight and manufacturable designs, and requires hands-on fabrication and GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in mechanical design for UAV/UAS, UGV, or aerospace systems.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD in SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, CREO.
• Experience with UAV structural design, airframe development, and mechanical integration.
• Hands-on experience with composite structures, CNC machining, additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping.
• Familiarity with DFM, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing prep.
• Experience in multidisciplinary R&D and engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Participate in R&D activities for UAV/UAS and UGV systems.
• Design, develop, and optimize mechanical structures, airframes, and assemblies.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for prototype and production.
• Develop lightweight, manufacturable components considering strength and weight.
• Support prototype manufacturing with CNC machining, composites, sheet metal, and additive processes.
• Coordinate with electronics, software, manufacturing, and flight test teams throughout development.
• Prepare engineering documentation including drawings, change requests, and test reports.
