Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi seeks a seasoned Systems Safety Analysis Engineer to lead safety activities for UAV platforms and related subsystems. You will apply SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882E, and NATO AEP-4671 across the lifecycle, from concept through certification, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with avionics, propulsion, and airworthiness teams, and drive safety programs, hazard tracking, and safety cases to support platform airworthiness

Qualifications

• Minimum 15+ years in aerospace/defense; UAV or military/aerospace experience preferred.
• Demonstrated system safety assessments across airborne platforms and subsystems.
• Strong avionics/aircraft systems background with safety processes.
• Experience applying SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, MIL-STD-882E and related standards.
• Proven ability to lead safety programs, hazard tracking, and documentation.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, manage, and maintain system safety requirements for UAV platforms and subsystems.
• Establish and maintain system safety programs aligned with SAE ARP4754A/ARP4761 and MIL-STD-882E.
• Perform FHA, PSSA, SSA, PRA, ZSA, CCA, FTA analyses and safety case development.
• Develop and execute safety verification strategies and evidence.
• Coordinate with airworthiness, certification, and supplier teams for safety deliverables.
• Lead safety workgroups and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and mentor staff.
• Prepare comprehensive hazard logs, risk registers, and safety reports.
