Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks an Assembly Tool Design Engineer to design tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, perform tolerance analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on NPI and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a 5+ year background in tooling or manufacturing engineering, strong CAD skills (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo) and GD&T knowledge. Relocation to Abu Dhabi is expected for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in tooling/fixture design or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Ability to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with tooling, jigs, fixtures, templates, and gauges.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, templates, and gauges for manufacturing operations.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo).
• Perform tolerance analysis to meet dimensional and functional specs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams on assembly requirements.
• Support NPI and industrialization activities and prepare BOMs and specs.
• Coordinate with tool manufacturers and suppliers during fabrication and qualification phases.
• Conduct tooling trials, validation and acceptance testing; investigate issues and implement improvements.
