Job summary

Amana Contracting & Steel Building Company is seeking an AD Technical Engineer to lead MEP design and BIM coordination for large steel structures in Abu Dhabi. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with codes, and deliver cost-effective solutions from concept through handover.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in MEP, 5+ years in design/construction, proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design and construction, preferably in steel building projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks for BIM coordination.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes and international standards (e.g., IEC, ASHRAE).
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review MEP design calculations, drawings and specifications for steel building projects.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
• Perform site inspections and supervise installations to verify compliance with design and codes.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during construction.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates and as built documentation.
• Conduct value engineering and cost optimization studies.
• Ensure adherence to local regulations, standards and company quality procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the technical team.
• Participate in tender reviews and provide technical input for bid proposals.
• Utilize BIM and CAD tools for clash detection and model coordination.
