Job summary

Amana Contracting & Steel Building Company is seeking an AD – Technical Engineer to drive the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for large steel structures in the UAE. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with local codes from concept through handover.

You will have 5+ years in MEP design, with BIM coordination using AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Navisworks. The role includes mentoring junior engineers and supporting tender reviews to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering (or related MEP discipline).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design and construction, preferably in steel building projects.
• Proficiency with BIM and CAD tools for design coordination.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes and international standards (IEC, ASHRAE).
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with project management software (Primavera, MS Project).
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• PE license or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review MEP design calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel building projects.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
• Perform site inspections and supervise installations to verify compliance with design and codes.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during construction.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and as‑built documentation.
• Conduct value engineering and cost optimization studies.
• Ensure adherence to local regulations, standards, and company quality procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the technical team.
• Participate in tender reviews and provide technical input for bid proposals.
• Utilize BIM and CAD tools for clash detection and model coordination.
