Job summary

ABU ALNAGA CONTRACTING in Dubai seeks a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to manage project financials, job costing, and accurate reporting across construction operations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 4–7 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in construction, with proficiency in construction software and AIA billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 4–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction.
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Procore, QuickBooks).
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Knowledge of AIA billing, subcontract management and lien waiver processes.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee job costing and track project budgets, costs, and profitability for multiple active construction projects.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Process AIA billing / progress billing and manage subcontractor payments and lien waivers.
• Monitor WIP schedules and over/under billing reports.
• Assist with payroll processing, including certified payroll for prevailing wage projects where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, construction contracts, and internal financial controls.
• Collaborate with project managers to forecast costs and track change orders.
• Support year-end audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Maintain and improve accounting procedures specific to construction operations.
