RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established building contractor based in Gauteng, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The company specialises in a range of residential, commercial and industrial building projects and is known for delivering quality workmanship and on-time project completion.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and cash flows
- Measure and value work done on site (including subcontractor valuations)
- Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQs) and procurement schedules
- Manage cost reporting and ensure accurate financial forecasting
- Monitor contract compliance and manage contractual claims and variations
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams
- Conduct site visits and assessments to validate work completed
- Assist with final account preparation and project close-out
- Mentor and support junior QS staff where applicable
- BTech in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in building construction (contractor-side)
- Strong understanding of JBCC and other relevant construction contracts
- Proven experience managing large-scale residential, commercial or industrial projects
- Proficiency in QS software (e.g. CCS, Candy, BuildSmart or similar)
- Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Experience with fast-paced or high-spec construction projects
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
