A software development company in Gauteng is seeking an Intermediate QA Tester to enhance their team. The role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and collaborating closely with developers. Applicants should have over 4 years of testing experience and a strong understanding of QA methodologies. Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and Selenium is preferred. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Intermediate QA Tester to join our growing team. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting bugs, and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and fellow testers to ensure our software products meet high standards of quality and performance.
Review and analyze system specifications and requirements
Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases (manual and automated)
Identify, record, and document thoroughly any bugs or defects
Perform regression testing when bugs are resolved
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
Suggest process improvements to enhance product quality and testing efficiency
Work with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr
4+ years of experience in software testing or QA
Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Experience with both manual and automated testing (e.g., Selenium, Postman, Cypress)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Experience with API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
ISTQB certification or similar
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Exposure to performance or security testing tools (e.g., JMeter, OWASP ZAP)
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git )
