Job summary

A leading global manufacturing company is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Lead based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving supplier development and cost optimization across Sub-Saharan Africa. Ideal candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and have at least 5–7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in packaging or manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to influence procurement practices and lead significant initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in localization projects and supplier development.
  • Background in packaging, manufacturing, or engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to enhance supplier performance.
  • Profile and assess current supplier base and identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and service levels with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain a reliable supplier database.
  • Provide strategic insight on spend analysis and localization metrics.
