Qualifications

• A qualification in Sports Management, Physical Education, Community Development, or a related field is advantageous.
• Previous experience in coordinating or coaching youth sports programs is essential.
• Knowledge of various sports and their rules, particularly those popular among youth.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for working with children and teenagers.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by program schedules.
• A genuine passion for youth development and sports in the Soweto community.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate youth sports leagues, clinics, and recreational activities.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer coaches and program assistants.
• Ensure a safe and positive sporting environment for all participants.
• Develop age-appropriate training curricula and game strategies.
• Manage equipment inventory and ensure proper maintenance of sports facilities.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, participants, and community stakeholders.
• Promote sports programs and encourage youth participation through outreach initiatives.
• Assist with budget management for sports programs and track expenditures.
• Evaluate program success and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Foster values of sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and discipline among young athletes.
