This 12-month internship offers an ambitious graduate practical, hands‑on experience within a fast‑paced commercial finance and administration department. Successful candidates will work closely with the finance and operations teams, gaining solid exposure to transactional accounting, accounts payable/receivable, financial reconciliation, document control, and daily business operations.
Requirements
- Education: Completed Degree or 3-Year Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, Finance qualification (Non-Negotiable) YES Programme Eligibility (Strict Non-Negotiable)
- Must be a South African Citizen.
- Must be between 18 28 years old .
- Must be currently unemployed at the time of placement.
- Must NOT have previously participated in or completed a YES Programme.
- Technical Skills: Computer literate with solid working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, sheets) and MS Office.
- Competencies: Strong numerical accuracy, high attention to detail, and sound analytical capabilities.
- Communication & Drive: Professional written and verbal communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an eagerness to learn.
- Logistics: Must reside in or close to Tygervalley, Cape Gate, or Somerset West (or have reliable transport to commute). Valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Financial Processing & Administration: Assist with daily finance operations, accurately capturing and maintaining financial transactions and ledger records.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Support daily billing, customer invoicing, supplier documentation, and processing payment receipts.
- Reconciliations & Balances: Assist with checking financial information, balancing accounts, and performing routine statement/bank reconciliations.
- Sales & Operational Documentation: Assist commercial and sales teams with generating quotations, sales documentation, vehicle delivery paperwork, and order processing.
- Reporting & Month-End Support: Help compile basic financial spreadsheets, support month-end reporting schedules, and prepare administrative files.
- Record Control & Data Capturing: Ensure digital and physical filing systems are compliant, up to date, and organized.
- Client & Branch Liaison: Assist with customer enquiries, professional correspondence, and cross-departmental coordination across branch operations.
