Job summary

Primeserv Denverdraft seeks a Workshop Foreman with experience in repair, panel beating and assembly of heavy commercial vehicles for OEMs and clients. The role is based at our Far East Rand client site and requires a trade-tested diesel mechanic with Code 14 and PrDP, plus own transport to perform duties with minimum supervision.

You will lead the workshop team, manage staff attendance, oversee parts and repairs, liaise with buyers and estimators, and ensure adherence to job cards and deadlines

Qualifications

• Diesel mechanic or similar trade qualification required.
• Code 14 driver's license, PrDP license and own transport.
• Grade 12 or N3 educational background.
• Sober habits and presentable with professional client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Report to Workshop Manager and MD.
• Close and open workshop.
• Manage staff attendance and timekeeping.
• Investigate non-conformances.
• Meet monthly revenue and GP targets.
• Identify delays and report to management.
• Adhere to deadlines by allocating staff resources efficiently.
• Promote a safe and health work environment.

Job description

We require a Workshop Foreman with experience in the repair, panel beating and assembly of heavy commercial vehicles on behalf of OEMs and clients (trucks / busses / trailers) to be based at our reputable client on the Far East Rand. We are looking for hard-working, dedicated professional to join and grow with this dynamic team. Candidates must have a Code 14 driver's license, own vehicle and be a trade tested diesel mechanic or similar. This will commence with a 3-month FTC with a view to becoming a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:

• Report to Workshop Manager and MD.
• Closing and opening of workshop.
• Manage staff attendance and timekeeping.
• Investigate non-conformances.
• Meet monthly revenue and GP targets.
• Overtime planning.
• Ensuring adherence to job cards.
• Adhere to strict deadlines by allocating staff resources efficiently.
• Identify possible delays and report to management.
• Safekeeping of new and replacement parts.
• Clear communication with buyers and estimators and the Workshop Manager.
• Manage repair process and timeframes on multiple jobs simultaneously.
• Ensure good housekeeping practices of the workshop.
• Promote a safe and health work environment for all staff.
• Overtime required occasionally.
• Ad-hoc / general duties in the workshop.

Qualifications and Staff:

• Diesel mechanic or similar trade qualification.
• Hardworking and professional.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Communicate well on all levels.

• Must have previous experience in similar role.
• Sober habits.
• Presentable.
• Interact with clients, OEMs and suppliers in a professional manner.
• Clear criminal record.
