Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl seeks a detail-oriented Wireless Network Technician to join the operations team. You will install, configure, and maintain wireless networks, ensuring coverage and security for client sites.

Responsibilities include site surveys, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documenting configurations. A National Diploma and 2+ years' experience are required, plus travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in EE/IT/telecom.
• 2+ years in wireless installation and support.
• Familiar with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
• Experience with site survey tools and spectrum analysis.
• Knowledge of RF principles and signal propagation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission wireless hardware.
• Perform site surveys for optimal placement and troubleshoot coverage.
• Monitor wireless network performance and troubleshoot connectivity for high availability.
• Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades on wireless infrastructure.
• Implement wireless security measures (WPA2/3, ACLs).
• Document network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and performance metrics.
