Job summary

Wine Lounge at an Estate close to Stellenbosch is seeking a Wine Tutor to provide excellent service to ensure great guest satisfaction. The role requires patience, personality and perseverance with a strong knowledge of wines and the ability to explain this to guests. Grade 12 and 1–2 years wine tutor experience preferred.

Own transport and flexible hours are expected. This is a fixed term contract with duties including setting up tasting area, presenting tastings, cellar tours, stock control

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification.
• 1–2 years wine tutor experience preferred.
• Own reliable transport.
• In-depth knowledge of wines and the ability to explain to guests.

Responsibilities

• Setting up tasting area.
• Presenting tutored wine tastings.

• Ensure presentation, quality and temperature of all drinks.
• Processing wine orders through Capreo, Cape Ardor and Aspiring Logistics.
• Ensure sufficient stock and equipment; stock collection and re-stocking.
• Minimise losses through breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders; capture losses.
• Strict tasting and portion control.
• Daily stock-take of wine and beverages and complete stock movement sheets.
• Promoting and processing sales.
• Adhere to Liquor Act regulations and relevant guidelines.

We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.

Please note this is a fixed term contract.

Duties

• Setting up tasting area
• Presenting tutored wine tastings
• Cellar tours
• Ensure presentation, quality and temperature of all drinks are correct.
• Processing wine orders through Capreo, Cape Ardor and Aspiring Logistics.
• Ensure that there is enough stock and equipment, stock collection and re-stocking.
• Ensure a minimum loss through breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders and capturing any losses.
• Strict tasting and portion control
• Daily stock-take of wine and beverages and completing stock movement sheets
• Promoting and processing sales
• Adhere strictly to the provisions and regulations as contained in the Liquor Act (No. 59 of 2003) and other regulations as may be applicable to the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Preferably 1- 2 years wine tutor experience
• Own reliable transport
