Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator for the Paarl, Western Cape region. You will oversee planning to execution of wine tastings, harvest festivals, vineyard tours, and corporate events, coordinating vendors, clients, and marketing activities.

The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, a passion for wine tourism, and the ability to manage multiple events. Hybrid working options and on-site event management are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of event planning and coordination experience.
• Passion for wine and tourism is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and event management software.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
• Based in or able to commute to Paarl, Western Cape.
• Relevant qualification in Event Management or Hospitality is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all aspects of assigned events, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and staffing.
• Develop event budgets and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Liaise with clients to understand their event needs and provide regular updates.
• Coordinate marketing and promotional activities for events.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Manage event timelines and critical path elements.
• Gather post-event feedback and prepare reports for management.
• Support the broader marketing and tourism initiatives of the client.
