Job summary

South Deep Gold Mine at Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd seeks a Winding Engine Coordinator to oversee WED driver activities, shift planning and safe transport of personnel, materials and ore between shaft stations.

The role requires Grade 12, WED certificate, Onsetter, 5 years WED experience (2 in supervision) and fitness for duty, with strong safety leadership and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Winding Engine Driver’s Certificate of competence.
• Onsetter Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years’ WED experience, 2 years in a supervisor role.
• Must be medically fit and pass medical tests.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate WED driver activities and shift arrangements.
• Monitor safety and compliance with procedures.
• Oversee documentation and reporting of defects.
• Coordinate driver allocation and relief coverage.
• Ensure safe shaft transportation of personnel, materials and ore.
• Maintain SHERQ compliance and safety training.
