Job summary

Seriti Green seeks a technically skilled energy analyst to manage wind, solar PV and BESS analysis across the development portfolio, from inception through construction. You will collaborate with the Development and BD teams on commercial shaping and pricing of projects.

Key duties include wind layouts, BESS sizing and dispatch modelling, energy production profiling, and on-site data collection with GIS support. Travel across Africa is required as projects advance.

Qualifications

• Relevant Engineering degree (B.Eng or BSc(Eng)).
• 3–5 years of wind energy assessment experience.
• Experience modelling and optimizing BESS systems with dispatch modelling.
• Familiarity with SA electricity market tools (WEPS, Megaflex) preferred.
• Exposure to hybrid project design (wind+BESS, solar+BESS) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide wind turbine layouts and energy estimates for projects.
• Ensure data bankability with lenders for wind/energy numbers.
• Site visits to proposed turbine and monitoring locations.
• Plan on-site services (monitoring campaigns, geotechnical work).
• Assist with development approvals (noise, visual impact, mapping).
• Manage monitoring equipment on site; arrange maintenance.
• GIS support and regional mapping.
• Lead BESS sizing, dispatch modelling and optimisation.
• Optimise BESS parameters against revenue streams (arbitrage, WEPS, Megaflex, PPA firming).
• Develop dispatch strategies balancing revenue and constraints.
• Interface with BESS OEMs on technical terms and augmentation planning.
• Build inputs to financial models (efficiency, availability, O&M).
• Model interactions between renewables, BESS, and grid connection.
• Generate energy production profiles for pricing and negotiations.
• Support BD with technical inputs to tariff pricing and wheeling calculations.
• Model portfolio profiles for combined energy products to offtakers.
• Contribute to technical narratives in proposals and information memoranda.
• Assess emerging storage technologies for pipeline relevance.
• Provide strategic technical input to executives as needed.
• Offer additional support to the development team.
