Job summary

Alfred H Knight in Rustenburg is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join the wet chem department. You will carry out analysis per analytical methods and SOPs to a high degree of precision, ensuring timely reporting on diverse samples submitted to the laboratory.

The role demands strong adherence to ISO17025, accurate data handling, equipment calibration, and quality control, with a focus on maintaining safety, traceability and efficient daily workload management in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Carrying out analytical processes from weighing, fusion, leaching, titration to instrumental analysis per SOPs
• Maintaining high accuracy and precision per good laboratory practice
• Organising daily workload to meet schedules and targets
• Implementing ISO17025 quality management within laboratory sections
• Carrying out first-line maintenance and calibration of equipment
• Maintaining records for auditability and traceability
• Evaluating quality of analytical data before handing over results
• Advising on technical problems to Shift Chemist
• Participating in audits, non-conformances and customer complaints investigations
• Liaising with the Laboratory Technical team on quality initiatives

Responsibilities

• Carry out analytical processes per SOPs with high accuracy and precision

• Calibrate and verify instruments and perform routine checks
• Contribute to quality initiatives, audits, and corrective actions
• Support production targets and ensure timely reporting of results
