3 Month Contract to Possible Permanent Position
Supervising of workshop staff and resources, to ensure customers are supplied with a quality service, maintenance, and repair - on time.
Creating an environment which ensures the health and safety of employees and contractors.
- To ensure that repairs and maintenance to vehicles, trailers and mobile equipment is carried out
- According technical specifications and approved standards.
- Ensure all service, maintenance and repair jobs are carried out as per good work procedure.
- Ensure a safe work environment and safety record.
- Ensure that company procedures are followed.
- Maintain good customer relations.
- General co-ordination, planning
- Manage and update workflow in Workshop
- Examine trucks, trailers & any equipment slot-in identify correct problems and repairs needed & additional work
- Complete the required works order detailing what must be done, what parts/spares must be used and time required completing the repairs
- Distribute work in accordance with the capabilities of the employees and the agreed completion times
- Ensuring asset and parts registers are current and accurate
- Monitor performance of team members to ensure efficiencies are achieved
- Motivate staff to maximize productivity
- Monitor timekeeping and absenteeism
- Handle staff problems and queries
- Conduct safety information meetings
- Ensure housekeeping and SHEQ standards as per complete safety and health inspection reports
- Ensure all repairs are carried out according to procedure and vehicle requirement
- Ensure there are sufficient spares available for the efficient maintenance of vehicles
- Ensure all vehicles are return in a clean and hygienic state
- Conduct quality checks on all repaired units to ensure service standards are maintained
- Provide technical expertise and assistance
- Co-ordinate production start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers
- Ensure daily and future jobs are planned.
- Ensure workshop stock is controlled. Report on any major variances.
- Order materials required to effectively maintain operations, including oil, grease and cleaning materials.
- Receive materials and ensure quality and quantity are correct.
- Ensure workshop vehicles are controlled and daily inspections are done.
- Ensure estimates are correct, accurate and approved.
- Follow up on orders for estimates all estimates to be converted in 7 days
- Ensure jobs are carried out as specified, with time being strictly controlled
- Constantly attempt to keep work in progress flowing and not allowed to age beyond 7 days
- Reporting and recording of faults with any/all workshop equipment.
- Recording of staff working hours and reporting thereof.
- Assist in conducting accident and incident investigations
- Accurate maintenance of administration systems
- Service records and schedules
- Audit reports as requested.
