Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Well Completion Engineer to join our client’s team in Soweto. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing well completions to ensure safe, efficient production in Gauteng. You will select equipment, plan operations and monitor performance post-completion.

Key responsibilities include designing completion systems, developing programs, overseeing execution and collaborating with drilling, reservoir and production teams to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in well completion engineering in oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of completion equipment, tools and technologies.
• Experience with completion design, planning and execution.
• Familiarity with wellbore integrity, sand control and artificial lift methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify downhole completion equipment and systems for oil and gas wells.
• Develop detailed completion programs, including sand control, stimulation and artificial lift strategies.
• Oversee the execution of completion operations, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Monitor well performance after completion, analyze data and recommend optimization measures.
• Collaborate with drilling, reservoir and production teams.
• Ensure all completion activities comply with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
