The purpose of the Internship is to provide graduates with an opportunity to gain practical work experience in the library and information services field within a research and development environment. This position is based in Pretoria.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and processing Interlibrary Loan requests via the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) library system.
• Front desk duties and walk‑in clients training.
• Assist in the administration of eResources.
• Cataloguing of books and journals.
• Assist in collection management projects and the shelving of books and journals.
• Identifying items for weeding by following the approved weeding guidelines.
• Assist with systems in conducting quality control of the OCLC Knowledge Base.
