Job summary

Wine Co. is seeking a dedicated General Worker to support Front of House operations by keeping the Brand home clean and well-maintained. You will help deliver world-class hospitality standards by preparing spaces for guests and events throughout the tasting room and conference areas.

Role requires English and Afrikaans, Matric, and hygiene-related certificates. You will work across bars, kitchens, and retail spaces, including weekends and public holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Must speak English and Afrikaans.
• Have a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Proven ability to read and write.
• Relevant courses or certificates in cleanliness and hygiene management.
• Proven experience as a general worker in a hospitality environment.
• Front of house or service experience.
• Food and beverage preparation experience.
• Act proactively.
• Self-leading with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all general housekeeping of the Brand home and its operations.
• Prepare all public spaces before guests arrive.
• Prepare the outside courtyard area before guests arrive (parasol setup).
• Prepare for tea/coffee/meal services before and during conferences or events.
• Assist during tea/coffee/meal service.
• Clear tea/coffee/meal service and clean up afterwards.
• Prepare for activities in the tasting room (cocktails, tours, tastings, food).
• Clean tasting room and conference facilities throughout the day.
• Clean bar area and ensure supplies for service are stocked.
• Prepare food or food-related items for service.
• Report maintenance, cleaning or safety issues observed.
• Clean restrooms and kitchens regularly.
• Ensure retail areas are clean.
• Vacuum carpets (fixed and loose).
• Follow policies and seek continuous improvement.

Support the Front of House activities by ensuring that the cleanliness in all areas is consistently maintained. Assist in exceeding overall guest experience by maintaining the brand home in a way that delivers service excellence and maintains world-class hospitality standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all general housekeeping of the Brand home and its operations.
• Prepare all public spaces before guests arrive.
• Prepare the outside courtyard area before guests arrive, i.e. opening of parasols.
• Prepare for all tea/coffee/meal services before and throughout conferences, meetings, or special events.
• Doing all preparations for tea/coffee/meal service before and throughout conferences/meetings/special events.
• Assist during tea/coffee/meal service.
• Clearing away the tea/coffee/meal service and the resulting cleaning.
• Prepare for all activities hosted throughout the tasting room (Cocktails/Tours/Tastings/Food options).
• Cleaning of tasting room and conference facilities throughout the day.
• Clean bar area and ensure that it is stocked with items needed for service.
• Prepare food or food related items for service.
• Report any maintenance, cleaning or safety related issues observed.
• Cleaning restroom and kitchens regularly.
• Ensure that all retail areas are clean.
• Cleaning the floors according to the prescribed guidelines.
• Polishing furniture and décor items.
• Vacuum the fixed and loose carpets.
• Follow Organization's policies and procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
