Placements24 seeks a Water Resources Engineer to join its team in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on planning, design, and management of water resource projects, including supply, treatment, and distribution systems, plus flood and drainage work. You will develop sustainable solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to community water security.

The candidate should have a Master's in Civil/ Environmental Engineering (Water Resources) with Pr. Eng.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering and project management.
• Proficiency in HEC-RAS, EPANET, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of water quality standards and environmental regulations in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of water supply, treatment, and distribution infrastructure.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for river systems, stormwater management, and flood risk assessment.
• Develop and manage water resource management plans and strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and progress.
• Conduct site investigations and supervise construction activities where necessary.
• Utilize hydraulic modeling software for design and analysis purposes.
• Ensure all projects meet regulatory requirements and environmental best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
