Job summary

Headhunters in South Africa seeks a results-driven sales professional to develop new business in the waste management sector. You will cold-call, build strong client relationships, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver service excellence.

The role requires Matric and a preference for a tertiary sales/marketing qualification, plus strong MS Office skills and a valid EB driver’s license. You will target growth in allocated markets from an on-site base in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

Matric / Senior Certificate is essential.
Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing or a related field is advantageous.
Minimum 3 years’ sales experience advantageous.
Experience within waste management, environmental, or a similar industry preferred.
Proven track record in a sales environment.
Strong business development and cold-calling abilities.
Excellent client relationship management skills.
Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional, confident, hardworking, and self-motivated.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
Valid EB driver’s licence essential.
Ability to meet and exceed agreed sales and revenue targets.

Responsibilities

Conduct cold calls in line with agreed targets.
Develop new business and grow revenue within allocated markets.
Maintain regular contact with existing clients through service and telephone calls.
Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships.
Conduct market research and questionnaire surveys with prospective and existing clients.
Monitor, record, and assist with resolving client complaints.
Obtain waste samples, arrange analysis, and liaise with disposal facilities where required.
Act as the main point of contact with clients regarding overdue payments.
Coordinate communication with clients regarding service-related matters.
Prepare and submit quotations and proposals as required. Ensure only management-approved price lists are provided to clients.
Keep existing and prospective clients informed through relevant company communication material.
Compile and provide service-related statistical information and reports to designated key clients.
Prepare and submit monthly client reports.
Conduct regular calls and visits to A- and B-grade clients as agreed with management.
Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for improved service and increased sales.
Work closely with sales, administration, logistics, fleet, and disposal-site teams to ensure effective service delivery.
Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management from time to time.
