On Consulting (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town, South Africa is seeking a Storeman or Warehouse Clerk to support efficient stock handling and inventory control. The role focuses on accurate recording and safe, systematic storage to ensure smooth stock flow.

You will unload deliveries, verify items, operate WMS and barcode scanners, and help ensure safe, accurate storage and timely order fulfillment in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• A Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Willing to apply for a passport.
• 1–3 years of prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail storage environment.
• Must be able to stand, walk for long periods, and physically lift and move heavy boxes.
• Basic computer literacy and experience navigating inventory software or using barcode scanners.

Responsibilities

• Receiving & Verification: Unload inbound deliveries, check items against delivery notes/purchase orders, and inspect goods for damage.
• Inventory Control: Log all stock movements using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or manual records. Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical stock-takes.
• Storage & Organization: Bin and organize inventory logically. Ensure stock is stored safely and logically based on turnover rate or fragility.
• Order Picking & Dispatch: Retrieve requested stock from shelves. Pack and prepare orders accurately and on time to meet delivery schedules.
• Equipment Operations: Operate heavy machinery (such as forklifts or reach trucks) and warehouse tools (like pallet jacks and scanners).
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the warehouse remains clean, hazard-free, and compliant with occupational health and safety regulations.
