About the Role Our client, a prominent name in the South African wine industry, is seeking a meticulous and proactive Warehouse and Inventory Manager to oversee their facilities in Paarl, Western Cape . This position is critical for maintaining optimal stock levels of wine, bottling supplies, and other operational materials, ensuring efficient warehouse operations and accurate inventory control. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, inventory reconciliation, and supply chain principles, with a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for implementing best practices to minimize stock discrepancies, prevent damage, and ensure the timely availability of goods. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods.
• Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
• Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts, investigating and resolving any variances.
• Oversee the storage and handling of wine, bottling materials, and other inventory items to maintain quality.
• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
• Lead, train, and manage a team of warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.
• Maintain a safe and orderly warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Manage relationships with suppliers of warehousing and packaging materials.
• Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate tracking and reporting.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management and inventory control, preferably within the FMCG, food, or beverage industry.
• Proven experience with WMS and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of inventory reconciliation, stocktaking procedures, and supply chain logistics.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team and foster a safe working environment.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Paarl, Western Cape .
