Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary VP of Engineering to lead a distributed Cloud Infrastructure team in a fully remote leadership role. Architect, build, and scale a highly available, secure cloud platform using AWS, Azure, or GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Drive CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing while mentoring engineers across multiple regions. The ideal candidate has a Master’s in CS/Engineering (PhD a plus) with 10+ years in software engineering and at least 5 years in leadership roles

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; PhD a plus.
• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ in leading infrastructure/ platform teams.
• Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems and microservices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. PhD is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles managing infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
• Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their services.
• Proven track record of designing and scaling complex, distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of networking, security, and database technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Experience managing remote engineering teams effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical decision-making and influence across the organization.
