About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire virtual production pipeline, from pre-visualization and asset creation to real-time rendering and on-set integration.
• Lead and manage a remote team of virtual production specialists, including TDs, animators, lighting artists, and camera operators.
• Collaborate with directors, cinematographers, and VFX supervisors to define and implement virtual production strategies.
• Implement and optimize real-time workflows using industry-leading game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and motion capture systems.
• Manage technical challenges related to real-time rendering, virtual cinematography, LED volumes, and camera tracking.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, best practices, and workflows for the virtual production team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during virtual production processes, ensuring minimal disruption to project schedules.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advancements in virtual production, real-time rendering, and game engine development.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and adoption of new technologies for future productions, all managed remotely.

Requirements

• Proven experience in virtual production, real-time rendering, or a closely related field within the film or game industry.
• Expertise in game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, including blueprints, lighting, and rendering pipelines.
• Strong understanding of 3D pipelines, asset management, and optimization for real-time environments.
• Experience with motion capture, virtual cameras, and LED wall technology is essential.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for pipeline automation and tool development is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively, fostering collaboration and communication.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies and project requirements.
• Strong understanding of filmmaking principles, cinematography, and visual effects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
