Phakisa Holdings is seeking a Van Assistant in Gauteng (Central JHB) on a contractor basis to support the driver with deliveries and collections, load/unload stock, and ensure accurate documentation. Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with daily deliveries and collections according to route and schedule.
• Load and offload goods safely and efficiently.
• Check goods against delivery notes, invoices, or picking slips.
• Ensure products are handled carefully to prevent damage.
• Assist with securing goods inside the vehicle.
• Navigate delivery locations and follow planned delivery route.
• Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery where required.
• Report damages or missing goods immediately.
• Assist with returns, exchanges, and collection of goods where required.
• Maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping of the delivery vehicle.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Assist with basic vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Maintain professional communication with customers.
• Assist with warehouse duties when not on deliveries (picking, packing, sorting, loading stock).
• Comply with company policies, transport regulations and security procedures.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

About the Role: The Van Assistant supports the driver with the safe, efficient, and timely delivery and collection of goods. The role involves loading and offloading stock, assisting with deliveries, checking delivery documentation, maintaining good customer service, and ensuring that goods are handled safely throughout the delivery process.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the driver with daily deliveries and collections according to the planned route and schedule.

• Check goods against delivery notes, invoices, picking slips, or other relevant documentation.
• Ensure that products are handled carefully to prevent damage or loss.
• Assist with securing goods inside the vehicle before departure.
• Help the driver navigate delivery locations and follow the planned delivery route.
• Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery where required.
• Report damaged, missing, or incorrect goods to the driver or supervisor immediately.
• Assist with returns, exchanges, and collection of goods where required.
• Maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping of the delivery vehicle.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Assist with basic vehicle checks and report any visible defects or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers.

Minimum Requirements
