Job summary

Greys Personnel is seeking a Van Assistant in Thabazimbi to support drivers with loading, unloading, and deliveries. You will accompany routes, check items against documents, and ensure safe handling and accurate delivery recording.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, teamwork and a willingness to work beyond standard hours when needed. The position offers hands-on logistics experience, exposure to warehouse operations, and a role in maintaining vehicle readiness and customer

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Previous deliveries, warehousing, logistics or general labour experience advantageous.
• Good communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move goods.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Good customer-service skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends or public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and offloading goods from the delivery vehicle.
• Ensure goods are handled carefully to prevent damage during loading, transportation and delivery.
• Check goods against delivery notes, invoices or picking documents.
• Assist with securing goods safely inside the vehicle.
• Accompany the driver on delivery and collection routes.
• Assist with deliveries to customers, stores, branches or other designated locations.
• Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery where required.
• Report damaged, missing or incorrect goods to the driver or supervisor.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle.
• Assist with vehicle checks and report any defects or safety concerns.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers.
• Assist with navigating delivery routes and locating delivery addresses.
• Ensure delivery documentation is returned and submitted correctly.
• Perform general duties related to transport, logistics, and warehouse operations as required.
