Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a Van Assistant in Mokopane to support the driver with loading, unloading, and delivering goods to customers and stores, while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Applicants should be physically fit, reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team; Grade 12 or equivalent preferred, with willingness to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in deliveries, warehousing, logistics or general labour is advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move goods.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends or public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and offloading goods from the delivery vehicle.
• Ensure goods are handled carefully to prevent damage during loading, transportation and delivery.
• Check goods against delivery notes, invoices or picking documents.
• Assist with securing goods safely inside the vehicle.
• Accompany the driver on delivery and collection routes.
• Assist with deliveries to customers, stores, branches or other designated locations.
• Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery where required.
• Report damaged, missing or incorrect goods to the driver or supervisor.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle.
• Assist with vehicle checks and report any defects or safety concerns.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers.
• Assist with navigating delivery routes and locating delivery addresses.
• Ensure delivery documentation is returned and submitted correctly.
• Perform general duties related to transport, logistics and warehouse operations as required.
