Job summary

The South African Breweries is seeking a Boiler Operator to safely operate Coal & Biogas Boilers and related equipment in our production plant.

You will monitor performance, apply OHS procedures, maintain safety and housekeeping, and collaborate with teams to meet production plans. The role requires Matric and computer literacy, with a trade test advantageous.

Qualifications

• Matric or Grade 12 technical skill.
• Trade test would be an advantage.
• Computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor boiler performance.
• Measure and monitor trends of performance attributes.
• Apply OHS procedures.
• Maintain workplace safety, housekeeping and risk-free standards.
• Optimise production performance.
• Operate plant and process equipment.
• Monitor processes; interpret production plan and maintain the utilities operation.
• Report plant, machine and process problems.
• Conduct autonomous operator maintenance and operator breakdown maintenance tasks.
• Work in team and communicate effectively in the workplace.
• Contribute to self and team development.
• Prepare boilers for government inspections and ensure safety standards are adhered to.

The Key Purpose of this role is to safely operate Coal & Biogas Boilers and associated equipment efficiently.

Quality standards and quantity requirements on time as per the scheduled production plan.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric OR Grade 12 Technical skill
• Trade test would be an advantage

• 2 years general production experience in an FMCG environment
• Experience in a utilities/ processing environment will be an advantage
