Transnet is seeking an Urban Mobility Planner to lead integrated transport strategies for Cape Town’s metropolitan area. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CTP, or GIS specialization are advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in urban mobility planning, transport engineering, or related consultancy roles.
• Experience with PPP projects, sustainable transport, or smart city programs is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Conduct mobility studies, including travel demand forecasting and congestion mapping.
• Develop transport plans integrating rail, BRT, cycling, and pedestrian networks.
• Collaborate with city planners and policy makers to align projects with regulations and environmental standards.
• Prepare feasibility reports, cost-benefit analyses, and funding proposals.
• Use GIS, traffic simulation, and big-data analytics to model future mobility scenarios.
• Engage communities and NGOs to gather input and ensure inclusive design.
