Placements24 is seeking a forward-thinking Transport Planning Engineer to join our team. This role is remote with a focus on projects within Pretoria and surrounding areas, shaping urban mobility through data analysis, transport strategies, and sustainable system design.

You will leverage modeling tools to optimize traffic flow, improve public transport accessibility, and plan for future transportation needs, contributing to a more efficient and accessible network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Master's degree in Transport Planning or Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software and GIS tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic studies, data analysis, and demand forecasting for road networks and public transport systems.
• Develop transport plans including network improvements and public transit enhancements.
• Use transportation modeling software to simulate planning scenarios.
• Collaborate with urban planners, government authorities and stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, presentations and technical documentation for proposals and engagements.
• Assess environmental and social impacts of proposed transport infrastructure and policies.
