Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Urban Designer to join our Randburg team in a hybrid role focused on shaping the urban environment. You will design public spaces, streetscapes and regeneration initiatives, collaborating with architects, planners, and stakeholders to deliver sustainable, people-centered outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Urban Design (or related field) and 3–7 years’ experience, with strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, GIS, and Adobe Suite.

• 3–7 years of experience in urban design or related fields.
• Proficiency in design/visualisation software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, GIS).

Responsibilities

• Develop urban design concepts and master plans for various scales of development projects.
• Create high-quality visualisations, including master plan diagrams, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and stakeholder engagement to inform design strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, and engineers.
• Prepare reports and design guidelines for urban development proposals.
• Ensure proposals are sensitive to context, sustainability, and community needs.
