Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Urban Designer to spearhead innovative urban planning and design initiatives in Cape Town. This senior role leads design teams, engages with stakeholders, and develops master plans that address sustainability, livability, and community integration.

You will mentor junior designers and planners, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and present proposals to clients, local authorities, and community groups in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in urban design and planning.
• Experience leading complex urban design projects.
• Proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in community engagement and stakeholder management within the South African context.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale urban design projects from master planning to detail design.
• Facilitate public participation and stakeholder consultations.
• Develop design guidelines, policies, and frameworks for sustainable urban development.
