Job summary

Oude Werf Hotel in Stellenbosch seeks a Bar Attendant/Barista to support our food & beverage outlets. You will set up the service area, greet guests, take orders and serve drinks, including coffees, wine, cocktails and espresso beverages.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience in an upmarket setting and recognized mixology/barista qualifications. Shift flexibility incl. nights and holidays is needed.

Qualifications

• Matric is a minimum educational requirement.
• Recognized mixology and barista certification or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years' experience as a bartender and barista in an upmarket environment.
• Ability to work day/night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Work across multiple functions (restaurant, room service, events).
• Proficient use of Micros Symphony and speed point devices.
• Knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits and coffees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the service area and welcome guests.
• Take orders and serve drinks across outlets (restaurant, room service, events).
• Translate guests' needs into beverage recommendations.
• Prepare coffees to a consistent standard and upsell products.
• Collaborate across multiple functions (restaurant, room service, events).
• Use Micros Symphony and speed point machine efficiently.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits and coffee.
