Job summary

The Stellenbosch Hotel in Stellenbosch is seeking a Bar Attendant/Barista to join the food and beverage team onsite. You will prepare the area for service, welcome guests, take orders and serve drinks, with a focus on wine, cocktails and coffee.

Requirements include Matric, recognized mixology and barista certification, 1–2 years’ experience in an upmarket setting, ability to work day/night shifts and weekends, and familiarity with Micros Symphony and speed point systems.

Qualifications

• Matric and hospitality qualification required.
• Recognized mixology and barista certification or equivalent.
• 1–2 years’ experience as bartender/barista in an upmarket environment.
• Ability to work day/night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Work across multiple functions (restaurant, room service, etc.).
• Experience with Micros Symphony and speed point systems.
• In-depth knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits and coffee.

Responsibilities

• Work in food and beverage outlets such as room service, restaurant and conference/events.
• Prepare the area for service, welcome guests, take orders and serve drinks.
• Interpret guests’ needs and translate into beverage recommendations.
• Prepare coffees to a consistent standard and upsell products.
