Job summary

Network Contracting Solutions -a division of ADvTECH Resourcing in South Africa seeks an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to grow the underground mining business. You will promote engineering equipment, build long-term relationships, and tailor value-driven solutions for mines and contractors.

The role requires 3–8 years in technical sales within mining, a relevant engineering degree, ability to interpret drawings, and willingness to travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years' experience in a Technical Sales Engineer or Sales Engineer role.
• Relevant engineering degree or diploma.
• Experience selling engineering products to the underground mining sector.
• Strong exposure to underground mining operations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Willingness to travel and valid driver's license.
• Proven ability to prepare quotations and tenders.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with underground mining customers.
• Promote and sell engineering equipment, components, and technical solutions to mines and mining contractors.
• Conduct regular customer visits to underground mining operations and head offices.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and tenders.
• Interpret customer requirements and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Deliver product presentations and technical demonstrations.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and service teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide after-sales support and resolve technical queries.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities.
• Achieve sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Compile sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
• Travel extensively to customer sites across South Africa and neighbouring countries when required.
