Job summary

Square 1 Recruitment is seeking an experienced technical salesperson for mining in Rustenburg. Represent an established engineering and technology business with solutions spanning electrical distribution, automation, control, communications and mining infrastructure.

This role offers broad scope beyond a single product—develop relationships, identify opportunities, and deliver technically and commercially compelling solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven external B2B technical sales experience within mining is essential.
• Experience selling electrical, automation, control, industrial or mining technology solutions.
• CRM experience and MS Office skills.
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 driver's licence.
• Willing and able to travel regularly to customer and mine sites.
• 11kV+ medium-voltage electrical experience would be advantageous.
• Exposure to flameproof equipment, PLCs, drives, MCCs, electrical distribution or mining automation systems would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow distributor and end-user sales in mining.
• Manage and expand existing mining customers; identify new opportunities.
• Build relationships with mine engineering, electrical, procurement and operations.
• Support distributors with end-user opportunities and technical presentations.
• Promote a broad portfolio of electrical distribution, energy and automation solutions.
• Understand customer requirements and propose technical and commercial solutions.
• Prepare quotations and proposals; manage opportunities through the sales cycle.
• Hit agreed sales budgets, margins and revenue targets.
• Monitor distributor performance against budget and objectives.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
• Conduct market research to identify new opportunities.
• Travel regularly to customers, distributors and mining sites.
