Job summary

Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, invites suitable candidates for an MTS Manager position for the Platreef project near Mokopane, Limpopo. The role focuses on mechanized underground mining operations, mine design, planning and cost control to optimize production.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, implement international standards, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety and ore accounting accuracy while supporting the mining operation with timely technical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, mineral resource management or equivalent.
• Minimum of 15 years’ post qualification work experience.
• Mechanized underground mining experience, including mine design, planning, rock engineering, ventilation, project management, resource management and cost control.
• Knowledge of engineering techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and mine operations.
• Extensive experience in production reporting, daily, monthly and yearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage revenue optimization through coordinating and ensuring that mine plans and costs are safely and efficiently optimized.
• Ensure costs are safely deferred or minimized to not adversely impact production efficiency.
• Be accountable for mineral resources availability to avoid halting production.
• Develop and implement Technical Services Department standards per international/company standards.
• Optimize mine value with excellent mine planning and design and prepare cost models for underground mining.
• Apply company knowledge and systems to deposit modeling and calculations.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide full, timely support to the mining operation from Technical Services.
• Provide relief to the Mining Manager as required.
• Coordinate with 3rd party contractor staff within accountability area.
