About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Mine Manager to oversee their significant platinum mining operations in Rustenburg . This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing large-scale underground mining operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and profitability. You will lead a diverse team, manage operational budgets, and implement best practices to achieve production targets while upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship and community engagement. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling, to meet production targets.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans, budgets, and resource allocation for the mine.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mining professionals, supervisors, and operational staff.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, local communities, and contractors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety performance.

Requirements

• A degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical discipline; an MBA or relevant management qualification is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management or supervisory role.
• Extensive experience in underground platinum mining operations and associated technologies.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and foster a strong safety culture.
• In-depth knowledge of mine planning, scheduling, production management, and cost control .
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and reporting.
