Job summary

Globe 24-7 in Rustenburg seeks an experienced Mine Planner for a 12-month contract to develop and maintain practical underground mine plans and schedules aligned with production targets and operational constraints.

You will use Datamine for planning, work with geology, survey and engineering teams, and ensure plans are achievable, safe and compliant with requirements. Strong analytical and independent-working skills are required.

Qualifications

• Proven underground mine planning and scheduling experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of underground mining operations and production planning.
• Hands-on experience using Datamine software for mine planning and scheduling.
• Experience developing and maintaining underground mine plans and production schedules.
• Ability to interpret and work with geological, survey and mining data.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and engage effectively with site-based operational teams.
• Previous experience in underground mining environments is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-, medium- and long-term underground mine plans and schedules.
• Prepare detailed production schedules in line with targets and mine planning requirements.
• Utilise Datamine for underground mine planning, design, scheduling and related planning activities.
• Develop and update mine layouts, development plans and production schedules.
• Conduct mine planning and scheduling based on geological, geotechnical and operational information.
• Work closely with Mining, Geology, Survey, Engineering and Production teams to ensure plans are practical and achievable.
• Monitor planned versus actual production and identify deviations or constraints.
• Provide planning input to support production optimisation and utilisation of mining resources.
• Review and adjust plans in response to changing operational conditions.
• Ensure mine plans comply with safety, technical and operational requirements.
• Prepare planning reports, schedules and presentations for management and operational teams.
• Work independently at a client site within the greater Rustenburg area.
