Job summary

A family in Silverlakes/Midrand seeks a Tutor for their children. The role offers sessions at home or at a mother’s office, with some biweekly visits to Midrand and occasional digital sessions via iPads. Hours are Monday–Thursday 14:00–16:00 during school terms. Start ASAP; permanent contract; R200–R250 per hour.

Responsibilities include tutoring English, Afrikaans and Maths, helping with homework and projects, and preparing for Orators/Eisteddfod. A reliable car and SA ID are required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience within the last 2 years.
• Must have own car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record.
• Must have a passion for children.
• Must have Matric.
• Must have a South African ID document.

Responsibilities

• Tutor the children in English, Afrikaans and Maths.
• Assist with homework, school projects and reading.
• Prepare students for Orators / Eisteddfod and related activities.
• Sessions can be at home, at the mother’s office, or digitally via iPads on some days.

Silverlakes (sessions to be held at home or at mothers office - also in Silverlakes) and Midrand (biweekly)

Boy - Grade 1, Girl - Grade 3

Duties:

Parents are separated so some days the children will be in Midrand, perhaps someone that can also do the classes digitally with them via their iPads on those days. Homework assistance, school project management, reading and preparing for Orators / Eisteddfod etc. Tutoring in English, Afrikaans & Maths

Start date:

ASAP – permanent

Salary:

R200 - R250 per hour (gross, before deductions)

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
