Job summary

University of Fort Hare is seeking an au pair for a 17-year-old daughter with Down syndrome in Allens Nek. The role includes school drop-offs and after-school pickups, with some afternoons limited to transport only.

The position starts ASAP and offers a permanent contract with a gross monthly salary of R8500 plus a SARS rate per kilometer. Applicants must have 12+ months formal childcare experience in the last 2 years, own a car with 18+ months driving, two references, a clear criminal record,

Responsibilities

Duties:

Dropping at school in the mornings, collecting from school in the afternoons. Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons will only require transportation. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons will require transportation plus 30 minutes of Speech Therapy revision and 30 minutes of Grade 5 homework supervision, assistance and tutoring.

Salary:

R8500 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
